Gohar Matshkalyan

Gohar Matshkalyan was born in Yerevan. In 1985, he studied at the “Hakop Kojoyan” educational centre. In 1991, she graduated from the Faculty of Radiophysics of Yerevan State University. Goar Matshkalyan has been engaged in this genre of arts and crafts - batik (silk painting) for about 20 years. In her work, she especially prefers Armenian silk with national symbols. The author’s works contain the history and culture of Armenians, which seem to be a kind of hallmark of the homeland.

The author had individual and group exhibitions.
2008: Armenian Cultural and Art Center,
2009: exhibition, Narekatsi Art Society.
2014: personal exhibition at the Dilijan Museum of Folk Art and the Stepanakert National Gallery.
In 2022, an exhibition at the Henrikh Igityan National Center of Aesthetics - “Silk Trio”.
Her works are in private collections - in the USA, France, Russia, Italy, Korea, Australia, Germany, and Japan.
